3 Ways I Can Help You Live Well With Chronic Illness

I know how hard living with chronic illness and chronic pain can be, because I have lived with it for 13 years now. While it’s not been easy, I am thankful for it because it’s motivated me to learn how to help others live well in spite of living with chronic illness.

In my 26 years as a nurse, I have helped hundreds of people live with their chronic illnesses, and I would love the opportunity to help you, too.

In my role as your Chronic Illness Advisor, I can help you manage your chronic illness in three ways.

First, I will be your educator. I will teach you about your diagnoses and medications, about how to manage symptoms and prevent flare-ups, and most importantly, about how to halt disease progression. We will talk about how to develop a self-care plan so that you can start feeling better as soon as possible.

Secondly, I will be your equipper. I will provide you with a medical notebook full of record-keeping forms and symptom trackers to help you stay organized and keep track of problems. I will provide toolkits full of information about how to manage different problems related to your medical diagnoses. I will also provide resources to help you be successful in your healthcare journey.

Third, I will be your encourager. I will teach you how to make action plans that will help you make positive changes and reach your health goals, and I will celebrate every success with you. I will give you the guidance and encouragement you need to keep going every day.

It’s important to also talk about what I don’t do. I don’t diagnose medical problems or prescribe medication. I also don’t sell products such as essential oils or medical marijuana. I don’t work directly with your healthcare providers or with any other family members or caregivers (unless you want me to do so and provide express written permission).

I will be your case manager and health coach and will work within your healthcare providers’ current plan of treatment. I will equip you with the knowledge you need to ask the right questions and navigate our often frustrating healthcare system.

My goal is to help you live well with chronic illness, with the understanding that while your chronic illness may not go away, your life can still be good. How do I know this is true? Because I have found it to be possible in my own life.

My fees are quite reasonable and can be paid on a visit-by-visit payment plan. There are 4 different coaching packages to choose from that include virtual visits, disease management education, a free Coping with Chronic Illness ebook, a medical notebook, membership in a Chronic Illness Advisor Facebook group, and free emergency texts that enable you to reach me in the spur of the moment if help is needed.

I would love to talk with you more about how I can help you live well with chronic illness! Please feel free to contact me at Laurie@chronicillnessadvisor.com to set up a time we can talk.

Let’s get you feeling better today!
